Research Interests
Dr. Rentala Madhubala’s research focus is Tropical diseases. Her major contributions are in Medical Biotechnology spanning Drug Development, the development of diagnostic biomarkers for drug resistance in clinical isolates, point-of-care devices and diagnostic assays for infectious diseases, vaccine development, high throughput immunological screening of vaccine candidates, and vaccine concept development. She has over 129 research publications in high-impact international journals and 32 research scholars obtained their Ph.D.s under her guidance.
My laboratory works on visceral leishmaniasis and majot research areas include: identification of chemotherapeutic targets, development of diagnostic biomarkers for drug resistance in Leishmania and identification of potential vaccine candidates. Host –parasite Interaction is yet another area in which the research is presently going on in her laboratory.
